Ok well I have been trying to get some stuff going in here that will inspire you all to get crackin' on something more than a card...so today, I have rolled a few tech ideas into one. First of all I want to show you how to use Distress Crackle Paint. It is the product spotlight and is on SALE (and we all know how much fun a sale can be) but it is also a great tool in adding dimension and interest to your project. But I also have a mini tech tutorial in there on how to create what looks like patterned paper, but it is all about STAMPING YOUR OWN!!! And the final project today is a HOME DEC WALL ART....so get out your gear gang! We are off for a fun ride today!

Supplies needed
Stamps - For this project I used,
    10x10 wall canvas
    Lace by Embellishment Studio
    Photo
Step One
Begin by painting the top left corner or your canvas using Distress Crackle Paint, here I used Tattered Rose. Set it aside to begin drying as we move onto making our own patterned paper!
Step Two
Start with your paper in front of you with scrap paper underneath so that you can stamp off the edge of the paper. Ink up your backgrounder of choice, here I chose Fine Finials. Once you have fully inked it, remove some of the ink using a moist paper towel or baby wipe. Then stamp the bottom left corner of your paper three times without reinking in between. You will get one dark impression and two lighter ones.
Step Three
Next ink up the Modern Lily image using Brushed Corduroy Distress ink and stamp up along the left edge of the paper. Make sure to tilt your image at different angles to get the "climbing vine" look you see here.
Step Four
Mark the top left corner with a light pencil line where you will later tear off the corner. Apply a swatch of Scattered Straw Distress Crackle Paint to the right side of your paper and allow it to dry. As it dries it will begin to crackle up.
Step Five
While you are waiting you can carefully tear off the top left corner of your paper. Just follow the light pencil line you had created earlier as your guide and tear gently.
Step Six
Now it is time to get inky! Being careful to avoid the drying paint on your paper, ink up the torn edge really well using a piece of Cut 'N' Dry Foam and Brushed Corduroy Distress ink. Gently sponge the rest of the edges of the paper as well.

Step Seven
By this point your Distress Crackle Paint on your canvas should be dry. If ii is proceed to step eight, if it isn't and you want to rush things a bit like I did, simply dry it using your heat tool.
Step Eight
Once your paint is completely dry, use your piece of Cut 'N' Dry Foam again to apply ink to the entire painted area of your canvas. Really work the ink into the cracks and crevices of the Distress Crackle Paint.
Step Nine
Now take a moist paper towel or baby wipe and remove the top layer and excess ink.
Step Ten
Now it is time to get a feel for how the finished project is going to be laid out. So layer all of your items onto the canvas but do not adhere anything just yet. Mark where the photo corners are going to be using a light pencil mark.

Step Eleven
Using the Corner Curls Stamp from Bold Curls, stamp at both corner marks you made and then fill in in between. Now you are ready to layer on all of your layers and adhere them.
Finished Project
Adhere each layer to the canvas to create your finished project.

I hope that this weeks tutorial will inspire you in some way, whether it is on how to use the Distress Crackle Paint, how to make a really cool patterned paper, or get you motivated to make something other than a card, you know I want to see what you make! So go create and then upload and link back here so we can see what you do!
