Sometimes we tend to get into a rut with our stamps...we think, ink, paper, press, remove...done!
Well today Lori Craig has brought us a tutorial on how to use Ranger Paint Dabbers with stamps! And while there are a million uses for the Paint Dabbers we thought we would start with one that you just can't resist!
Supplies Needed:
Step One
To begin shake the Pearl Paint Dabber well to move the paint toward the top of the bottle. Invert on a piece of scratch paper, and press the foam top into the paper gently. Pressing gently onto the scratch paper will release the paint flow valve. Once the paint starts flowing, lightly dab paint onto the background stamp. Make sure to get a nice even coverage.
Step Two
Stamp background image onto a piece of neutal cardstock, here I used white. Set it aside to dry and move onto cleaning the paint from your stamp. DO NOT wait to clean your background stamp. I first stamp off the excess paint, and then wash the remaining paint off while it is still moist. Because the acrylic paint dries quickly it is important that you clean the stamp once you have used it and before you go on with the next step. While the acrylic paints dry very quickly on their own, if your stamped piece is not fully dry by the time you are ready to move to step three you could speed up the drying process using a heat gun.
Step Three
For step three you want to select a complimentary ink color and brayer dye ink onto white cardstock over the top of the acrylic paint. First ink up your brayer by rolling along the ink pad. Then roll over the top surface of your cardstock that has been stamped with the paint. Several passes with the brayer will insure even, unlined coverage.
Tip: If you do not own a brayer simply apply ink to the entire surface of the paper using your ink pad directly on your paper.
Step Four
Using a clean, dry cloth (or clean corner of a cloth), wipe excess dye ink off of the white cardstock. The paint will have resisted the dye ink cleaning it off this way will allow your painted backgrounder to 'pop' off of the page.
Finished Project
Mat and finish card as desired.

Wonderful Lori! I always liked stamping with paint but those dabbers look so easy to apply - much better than my ususal messy methods. _________________ Amanda McIlhatton
