Today we are spotlighting Memento Markers by Tsukineko.
These dye ink markers contain the same fast drying and fade resistant ink as the Memento Dew Drop and full sized ink pads. There are 24 colors to choose from and are sold in 6 different packs of 4 coordinating colors.
I have been using the Memento ink pads and Dew Drops since they first came out 1 1/2 years ago. They come in rich, juicy colors and produce a crisply stamped image. Tuxedo Black is a true jet black with no purplish tints. One of the best features about the Memento ink is that it will not bleed when colored with alcohol based Copic markers.
I bought my first Memento markers to use with the solid image Sara England stamps. The procedure for getting different colors of ink on a solid image stamp is to use dye ink markers to color the rubber before you press the stamp to the paper (don’t try this with your Copics, all you will do is stain the rubber!). There is an excellent tutorial with photos Lisa wrote here if you’ve never tried this before. Laboradors are usually black and can you believe I didn’t own a brush tipped black marker? LOL! I thought these Labradors would look great colored with Tuxedo Black and since my first Sara England stamp was the Pumpkin Puppy I also bought Tangelo and a few other colors of the Mementos to try them out. They color beautifully and now that they’re here at the CHF store I’m looking to complete my collection.
Here are a few samples:
Pumpkin Puppy as a black Lab
Pumpkin Puppy as a chocolate Lab
Something else that’s fun to do with the Memento markers is to doodle draw on outline style stamped images such as the Kim Hughes animals to customize them, and then color in with your Copics. You can’t draw? Sure you can, if you keep it simple! The next sample is a card I made where I took the big, smiley cat from the Cutie Pet-tootie set and drew him a Leprechaun hat and a tiny shamrock to dress him up for St. Patrick’s day. There are a few St. Patricks images in the Think Spring set but not quite what I was looking for. The O’Donnells pull out all the stops for St. Patty’s!
Kiss Me I’m Irish
The markers come with a brush tip and a bullet tip. The size of the bullet is comparable to a 0.3 mm journaling pen or Copic multiliner. The bullet writes very smoothly and is great for journaling on scrapbook pages or handwriting sentiments (if you are that brave!) on your cards. And if you need to erase any pencil lines the marker ink will not smear or fade.

Great spotlight, Laura! I have lots of Copics, but they can't do stamping ! I will definitely have to pick up some of these markers. Love the cards you made with them. |

I ordered them all and they should be coming in the mail here any day. I was looking for something to replace my Stampin' Up markers. Great info Laura! _________________ my blog: www.inky-doodles.blogspot.com |

We have done this because we figured these would probably be the most popular colors & folks would not want to buy a whole set just to get those two. If you think there are any other colors that should be sold separately please let us know. _________________ Liz

| Liz, you're right. The black and Cocoa will get used the most and also run out of juice quicker than the others I think. |
