Cornish Heritage Farms’
Summer Stamp Star Design Challenge
CHF is excited to announce a 5 week long design challenge which will run from June 29th, 2009 until August 2nd, 2009. Stampers will have the opportunity to show us their creativity throughout those lazy days of summer!
The Details:
1. Participate in a weekly stamping challenge for five consecutive weeks to earn a guest spot in September 2009, on the CHF Design Team
2. Each week will feature a different challenge where you have the opportunity to upload one image of your design or project into a special gallery for that challenge at the CHF Forum website. The gallery will be open for each challenge and then closed before the next challenge begins.
3. One winner will be selected per week based on design merit and will receive a $50 rubber stamp credit to select from any of the hundreds of stamps that might suit their fancy at www.cornishheritagefarms.com.
4. At the end of the five challenge weeks, any participant that has submitted projects to all five challenge galleries will be juried by our team and one winner who has shown consistent design excellence throughout the challenges will win the entire CHF stamp release for the month of September and a Guest Design Team spot to show off their skills. This designer will be featured on the blog and be included in our newsletter - after all that work, we want to share the talents of this fabulous designer with the stamping community!
So what are you doing this summer? Will it be You?
Challenge 1:
Color it: Use your favorite medium whether it is ink, markers, pencils or chalk - we want to see you color what you have stamped. (Gallery opens at 9 a.m. on Monday June 29, 2009 and closes on Monday at 9 a.m. on July 6, 2009)
Challenge 2:
Paper Piecing: Stamp your image on a few different types or colors of paper and then piece it back together to create your design. (Gallery opens at 9 p.m. on Monday July 6, 2009 and closes at 9 a.m. on Monday July 12, 2009)
Challenge 3:
Resist: Using any of the techniques or products available, create a project that lets the layers underneath shine through. (Gallery opens at 9 a.m. on Monday July 13, 2009 and closes at 9 a.m. on Monday July 19, 2009)
Challenge 4:
Make a Scene: Take elements from one set or many and build a scene in any style from realistic to cute. (Gallery opens at 9 a.m. Monday July 20, 2009 and closes at 9 a.m. on Monday July26, 2009)
Challenge 5:
One Sheet Wonder: Stamp an 8.5 x 11 or 12 x 12 sheet of paper with multiple repeating or collaged images and then use it up. Create an ensemble, gift box, set of cards, scrapbook page or whatever comes to mind - we want to see your creativity. (Gallery opens at 9 a.m. on Monday July 27, 2009 and closes at 9 a.m. on Monday August 3, 2009)
*Challenges run on Central Standard Time
The Fine Print:
-Each participant can only submit one design per week; select the design that represents your very best effort load it into the appropriate gallery when it is open.
-Each weekly winner will be selected and notified by Tuesday after the challenge closes. We will share who the winner is and their project as a feature on our blog the Wednesday following the participation deadline.
-Each participant that has uploaded a project for all five of the challenges will each receive a discount code of 25% for playing along. The discount code will be awarded once the Design Challenge is over & the overall winner has been notified. Because we are sponsoring this contest, we ask that your Challenge Submission design use at least one Cornish Heritage Farms stamp.
-All designs submitted must be entirely your own.
-Upload your project to the appropriate gallery for the challenge that you are participating in, and then list all CHF stamps used in the description area.
-This contest is open to international participants. _________________ Life as a Three Legged Dog (my blog)

Maybe we should run a side challenge, Holly - who has the least square inches of table top visible by the end of the challenges? I bet I'd give you a run for your money, I am such a messy crafter
Looking forward to seeing everyone's takes on these, looks like fun for sure! _________________ Joanne x

Ya know...... I have actually made some cards working in a 6x6 inch square of table space. Talk about cramped! Time to clean off the table and pull out all my CHF stamps and start thinking.
I love the CHF challenges. They are always so much fun. I never know what I will come up with - you CHF gals always make me think outside my normal card-making ideas. _________________ Holly

I hope I can play along this summer. Do we just post as "challenge #1" in the main gallery? Sorry, my first time playing along. |

Hello, hope you get chance to play along!
There will be a special gallery available for each challenge - when the new challenge starts, you'll see a new gallery category appear and you'll be able to upload your creation straight in to that and we'll all be able to see the entries all in one place. Then the following week, there'll be a new category for the next challenge and so on. The times in Bek's post at the start of this thread are the times that each gallery opens for each challenge and then closes again a week later. Hope that makes sense! _________________ Joanne x

Welcome StampinAK! Hope you can play along! Joanne's given you all the right details. There will also be more info available in these forums as the date gets closer. Feel free to ask any other questions here though.
Yay rrlscrapgal! So glad you're joining us!
As for that desk space, I think I just may have you beat. Right now there is NO space left on my desk. I then start working on my lap on my Scor-Mat! I've even see my start working on the floor when I just can't stop! LOL _________________ Julia

Oh my goodness! I haven't quite managed to get to the floor for working on my cards --- yet! LOL There have been times, though, when I have basically shoved a pile or two off my desk, let it fall on the floor, and continued on with my card. ROFL!
I actually cleaned it off some last night and started stamping a few images for coloring. Not sure which one I will use - depends on how the coloring goes. It was fun to just sit and color for a while and forget about work and life and craziness. _________________ Holly
