Sherrie Siemens has an amzing technique to share with us this week - Glass etching! Create your own unique project to decorate your home or as a gift for someone special.

I hope you'll join us this week in trying the technique.

Supplies Needed:
Step One
Stamp your "big inspiration" sentiment in versamark ink on your glass vase. Be sure to have inked your stamp well and center it precisely where you would like it.
Step Two
Sprinkle with detail clear embossing powder and shake off the excess. Heat set with heat set tool, this takes a little longer than it does with paper. Make sure you see your image go "clear" to set the powder.
Step Three
Mask off the area in which you wish the glass etching to appear. I used masking tape and checked it with my ruler to make sure it was straight. Press firmly the edges of you masking tape to insure you do not have any seepage.

Step Four
Apply glass etching paste with your finger....be sure to wear rubber gloves! If it eats through glass it will not be good for your hands!

Step Five
Let the paste sit for at least one minute. This may vary depending on the brand of glass etching paste you buy. Mine says to let it sit 30 seconds to one minute.

Step Six
Take your vase to the sink and rinse off all the paste. Remove your masking tape and dry well.
Finished Project

Voila, you have created a beautiful one of a kind creation. This is an easy project and would make a lovely gift item!

Please drop us a note here if you create your own Etched Glass project. We'd love to see!

Thanks!
