CHF Design Team Coordinator, Julia Stainton has created an inspirational piece that I'm sure you'll want to duplicate. Her style and elegance come through in a technique she's written, using Inchies. Inchies are small chipboard pieces (a perfect blank canvas) and are all the rage. Join the creative bandwagon and use this wonderful tutorial to design your own masterpiece!

Supplies Needed:
Step One
Lightly adhere Inchies to piece of scrap paper. Temporary adhesive works well. Also…Inchies tend to have one side that is better than the others. Adhere with the smoother edge side up.
Step Two
Adhere Inchies tightly together in a grid until you reach desired size.
Step Three
Ink stamp evenly and well.
Step Four
Press firmly onto Inchies.

Step Five
Start coloring your image by lightly dabbing on chalk colors. I like to use the smallest size applicator ball and have it tightly clipped in with just a touch of fiber showing. I find this picks up the chalk well and gives me the most control. Color can be removed with an art gum eraser if necessary.
Step Six
Continue adding and building up color until desired look is created. Chalking gives a softer, more impressionistic coloring look than other mediums. Don’t worry if you have less control and you have a soft dreamy look…it’s all part of the medium.
Step Seven
Go back and add in white highlights with a white gel pen.
Step Eight
Gently remove Inchie tiles from scrap cardstock.
Step Nine
Fold 8.5 x5.5 “ Clear Card Sheet (link this) piece in half to create card base. Crease with bone folder until crisp fold is achieved.
Step Ten
Adhere Inchies to front of clear card.
Step Eleven
Adhere white cardstock layer behind Inchies on inside of card to mat and cover adhesive.
Step Twelve
Mat with blue cardstock. Adhere flower to embellish design. Finish inside of card as desired.

Ideas to try:

-try coloring your Inchies with a different medium such as Copic Markers or Colored Pencils
-arrange your Inchies vertically for a vertical format design
-try just using three or four Inchies to spotlight a portion of the design

I really loved the look of your technique, Julia. I had to make a simple version...
