I don't think there is a single 10 year-old girl that hasn't made tissue flowers at some point. They are so easy to create! So why not create a small version to use on your stamped projects? Better yet, use stamps to personalize them to match any theme!
In addition to being easy to make with supplies you already own, this is also a very economical embellishment. Tissue paper can be purchased in large packages from discount or dollar stores. You can get countless flowers for just pennies.
Grabbing tissue for this tech won't make you cry! (Yeah... sorry for the bad pun, but I had to!) Join us this week for a floral fun project.
Basic Supplies
- Stamps
- Ink
- Cardstock
- Tissue Paper for gift wrapping
- Spray Bottle with Water and Distress reinker
- Wire
- Precision Scissors
Specific Supplies Used:
Step One
Trim a sheet of tissue into 6" x 6" squares. I've used white tissue, as this is what I always keep on hand, but you can use colored tissue.
Ink the Aged Music Scrapblock with Tuxedo Black ink and stamp on tissue paper.
Step Two
Add a dropperful of Fired Brick Distress reinker to a Mini Mister spray bottle and add water.
Lightly spray on stamped tissue paper.
NOTE: Of course, you can skip this step if you use colored tissue paper... but what's the fun of that!
Step Three
Dry with a heat gun.
Step Four
Trim the stamped and dyed tissue to a 3" x 3" square.
Layer 3-4 pieces of tissue together. The more tissue squares you use, the fuller your finished flower will be.
Accordian fold the stacked squares.
Step Five
Secure a length of wire around the center of your accordian folded tissue.
Step Six
Trim the two ends of the folded tissue into a rounded point.
Finished Project
Complete your project with your new flower embellishment.
The pointed tips remind me of a poinsettia... perfect for a holiday card.

I've made tissue flowers for card embellies but I've never thought of stamping the tissue - what a great idea! _________________ Joanne x

How FUN! I totally forgot about those flowers we used to make (only we made them from TP instead LOL). Now I can't wait to play! _________________ Holly
