So, with the newest addition of the Tsukineko Memento Markers to the Cornish Heritage Farms store and their recent role as a profile product, I thought I'd put my new purchase to good use this week. This technique is fast, uses supplies on hand and has stunning results.

I've seen this technique called Smackin' Acetate or Smashing Acetate - all with the same effect. Although, it wouldn't be a weekly technique at CHF without a little spin on it!

Grab a few simple supplies to make your own!

Basic Supplies
  • Stamps
  • Ink
  • Cardstock
  • Spray Bottle with Water
  • Ribbon
  • Perfect Pearls (optional)
  • Precision Scissors
Specific Supplies Used:
Step One
Scribble selected marker colors on clear card sheet. Start with the lighter colors and overlap to fill the full sheet.

Step Two
Spray the clear card sheet with water to remoisten the marker ink.

OR...

To kick this up a notch, make a solution of perfect pearls and water (your own shimmer spray) and spray on your clear card sheet to remoisten the marker ink.

Step Three
Press your simply smooth cardstock on the wet clear card sheet. Use the side of your hand to see that the whole piece of cardstock picks up the marker ink.

Step Four
Allow your clearly smacked cardstock to dry.

Step Five
Stamp the Newspaper Ads Scrapblock on the clearly smacked cardstock and allow to dry.

Step Six
Stamp the Freesia stamp and color with the same Memento Markers used in the background paper. Carefully trim.

Finished Project
Complete your project.

Thanks for joining us! Please let us know if you create using this technique. We love to share in your success!

I have done smackin' acetate before but I like the more controlled effect you can get from the markers! Love it!
