We're all busy on a regular day and the holidays certainly kick it up a notch. Between shopping, decorating, and cooking, the holidays can be a fast-paced race.
So, admit it... you give gift cards. I always feel a tidge guilty that I've not purchased a gift, wrapped and tucked under the tree. But, let's face it - gift cards are wonderful and in high demand on wish lists!
This tutorial is a fun and fast way to wrap up your gift cards - so it feels like the ultimate gift.
Thanks for joining us!
Basic Supplies
- Stamps
- Inks (dye or pigment)
- Cardstock
- Scoring Tool / Ruler and bone folder
- Ribbon or trim
- Adhesive
Specific Supplies Used:
Step One
Begin with a 4" x 7.5" strip of cardstock. You can get two strips from one 8.5" x 11" sheet of cardstock.
Score the long side at 3.5" and 4" (right in the middle).
Step Two
Score the short side at 0.5" and 3.5".
Step Three
Fold along the score lines. Snip to form small flaps in the center.
Step Four - Optional
Eyelets can be added to thread your ribbon handles. Add the eyelets 1" from each side and 0.5" from the top.
Step Five
NOTE: If you are planning to stamp the cardstock base, do so prior to closing.
Adhere the sides to create the bag base.
Finished Project
Now... it's all about embellishing your mini bag!
This example is simple for a favorite little guy. I found a really fun gift card at my local store with greens and blues and an alligator. I used this as my color and theme inspiration.
Punched circles from my Nestabilities dies and EK Success punches made this a fast project - perfect for a birthday!
View from the Side
The size of the mini bag has a 0.5" profile and works perfectly for gift cards and a bit of colored tissue paper.
Alternate Option
Keeping in mind the theme of my gift card, I made a matching bag for a fast holiday gift.
I plan to make several for my gifts this year and hang them on the tree until I give them away.
You can easily modify the size of your mini bag to accomodate any treat or small gift.
Be sure to let us know what you create! We love to share in your success!
Thanks for joining us!
