|
|
I tried using a reverse mask to stamp a vignette of the TK - Light of Peace stamp on both a Fabriano Medioevalis note card and an Arturo note card. Unfortunately, I have been unable to achieve a crisp, clean image. Any suggestions for stamping on watercolour paper? I thought that both sets of notecards would achieve the results that I wanted because they have very little tooth. Is it possible that it isn't the paper, but "user error?"
TIA!

| The only thing I know about watercolor paper is that you need to use a really juicy ink pad because the paper absorbs so quickly. And that’s a trick in itself using the TK stamps. I always do a few practice stamps on copy paper till I feel comfortable enough to let loose on the good stuff. I have my best luck with detailed stamps when using "hot" pressed paper than "cold" pressed - it’s noticeably smoother. |

Thanks so much for your tips. I did buy a single sheet of Arches 140 pound hot pressed paper to try out. Hopefully I'll have better luck with it!

I would try putting gesso on the watercolor paper to make it less absorbent, like two coats or so. This will keept the ink "Staz-on" or the like from being soaked up so quickly.
